HE HAS RISEN

Date : Nov 26, 2026
Passage : Matthew 28:1~15
Keyverse : 6

On the third day, at dawn after the Sabbath, the women came to Jesus' tomb and found it empty (Lk 24:3). The angel of the Lord had appeared like lightning, with a great earthquake, and the guards had fainted in fear (4).

The angel gave the women the good news of Jesus’ resurrection (6) and urged them to deliver the message to the disciples (7). While the women hurried back, afraid yet filled with joy, Jesus met them, greeted them, and assured them that what they had heard was true (10). The women’s faith and obedience led them to find Jesus and worship him, to their great joy (9)!

In contrast, the religious leaders sought to suppress the truth by bribing the guards and spreading a false report (12-14). Though their story had circulated in the Jewish community at that time, human effort could not overturn God's victory. The power of Jesus’ resurrection is the foundation of our Christian beliefs, and the evidence is shown in the lives of those once full of fear and sorrow, who have been changed to experience the ultimate joy of salvation.
Application: Father, thank you for raising Jesus, defeating the power of death. I find comfort and joy in your victory.
One Word: Jesus is risen!
