DEFEND THE WEAK AND NEEDY

Date : Nov 16, 2026
Passage : Psalm 82:1~8
Keyverse : 3

Psalm 82 presents God as the righteous Judge who stands above all earthly authorities. He rebukes leaders and judges who have failed to defend the weak, the poor, and the oppressed. Rather than using their positions to uphold justice, they allowed injustice to flourish. God’s message is clear: those entrusted with authority and influence are ultimately accountable to him.

This psalm reminds us that God cares deeply about justice and compassion. He sees those who are overlooked, mistreated, and vulnerable, and he calls his people to reflect his heart. Whether we lead many or serve quietly, we are responsible for treating others with fairness, kindness, and integrity. Jesus taught that whatever we do for the least of these, we do for him (Mt 25:31-46).

Let us honor God in our relationships and decisions. May our actions reflect his justice, mercy, and love for all people, especially the weak and needy. Is there someone in your life whom God has placed in your life to care for? What will you do for them?
Application: Father, thank you for caring for me when I was helpless. Please help me to practice your mercy and justice to the weak and needy.
One Word: Care for the weak and needy as the Lord does
