Psalm 80 is a heartfelt prayer for restoration. Three times the psalmist cries, “Restore us, O Lord; make your face shine on us, that we may be saved.” The psalmist looks upon a nation that has wandered from God’s blessing and now suffers loss, hardship, and judgment. Yet instead of despairing, he turns to the Lord who can restore, heal, and save.

This psalm reminds us that spiritual restoration begins with seeking God’s presence. When life feels broken, relationships are strained, or our faith grows weak, our greatest need is not merely for changed circumstances but for a renewed experience of God Himself. His face symbolizes his favor, love, and nearness.

Let us bring our need for restoration before the Lord. Ask Jesus to revive the areas of your life and faith that have grown cold or have been wounded. He delights in restoring his people and drawing them back to himself. His grace is greater than our failures.
Application: Father, thank you for Jesus who truly heals and restores us. Help me to come to you for your restoration.
