Jonah decided to obey God’s word this time, so he went to Nineveh and proclaimed a warning about God’s pending judgment on the Ninevites.

The Ninevites believed this message from God, and even the king himself took the message to heart. He humbled himself before God, repented, and ordered the whole land to follow his lead.

God came not to condemn the world but to save the world (Jn 3:17). It is those who believe in God’s compassion who can change the course of their lives and find salvation for their souls. God does not discriminate based on our own ideas of who should be saved and who should not be saved. God sees the hearts of all who sincerely come to him to find redemption.
Application: Lord, thank you for sending your Son to save us from our sins. Help me to believe in your love and grace for all.
