We are uplifted that God’s mercy is what enables us to be ministers of the new covenant. In contrast to the deception or distortion of false teachers, our pure service to the ministry of the word of God testifies on our behalf.

When we preach the gospel plainly, people’s rejection is not a failure of the gospel. Satan, the god of this age, blinds the minds of unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel that reveals the glory of God in Jesus. As God’s servants, we don’t preach ourselves in any way, but Jesus as Lord. We share the light that God has shone into our hearts through Jesus’ glory.
Application: Help me purely serve your gospel work to preach Jesus, though many may be blinded to the gospel.
