THE FIRST PRIESTLY ORDINATION

Date : Oct 03, 2026
Passage : Leviticus 8:1~36
Keyverse : 24

After completing the tabernacle and the priestly garments, the LORD commanded Moses to hold the first priestly ordination ceremony. What did Moses do? He washed the priests with water (6); clothed them with priestly garments (7-9,13); anointed the tabernacle and all the articles on it (10,11); anointed Aaron (12); offered the sin offering (14-17), the burnt offering (18-21), the ordination offering (22-29); and then consecrated them and their garments with a mixture of oil and blood.

Moses consecrated the tabernacle seven times. And the ordination ceremony lasted for seven days (33,35). One time or one day was not enough. This shows the complete holiness of the LORD. This holy God requires such holiness from his priests. Therefore, the LORD consecrated the right ear, the right thumb, and the right toe of the priests with the blood, and commanded them to stay in the tabernacle for seven days. The LORD wanted the priests to obey what they heard, and to serve him with their holy hands and feet, remaining in Jesus who is the true temple.
Application: Father, thank you for choosing me as your priests. Consecrate my whole being with your blood so that I may serve you as your holy priest in you forever!
One Word: Consecrate your ears, hands, and feet!
