HOLY TO THE LORD

Date : Jun 12, 2026
Passage : Exodus 28:31~43
Keyverse : 36

The remaining garments included a robe, a tunic, a turban, and a sash. The robe would come with gold bells. The bells would announce the coming and going of Aaron, so that he would not die before the Lord. The Lord is holy.

Aaron was also to wear an engraved plate saying, “Holy to the Lord.” This would be attached to Aaron’s turban, on his forehead. Aaron would bear the guilt involved in the gifts of the Israelites so that they would be acceptable to the Lord. This looks forward to Jesus our high priest, who bore our guilt on the cross to make us holy and acceptable to God.

Aaron and his sons would wear the sacred garments. They were consecrated to the Lord. They must wear the garments whenever they approach the Lord, as a matter of worship and as a matter of life. By contrast, Jesus had no clothes when he bore our guilt, but he became our perfect high priest.
Application: Lord, thank you for providing holiness to us. Thank you for sending Jesus to bear our guilt. Bless me to come to God through Jesus.
One Word: Made holy through Jesus
