The kingdom of heaven is described as a treasure hidden in a field. The man who discovers the treasure proceeds to sell all of his possessions to buy the field. The kingdom of heaven is a treasure that is worth more than all we have. That is why this man sold all he had to buy the field.

If we know the value of the kingdom of heaven, we will do the same. If we see that the kingdom of heaven is worth more than all we have, we will surely give our life for the kingdom of heaven.

The kingdom of heaven is compared to a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found a pearl of great value, he sold everything he had to buy that pearl. The kingdom of heaven is of greater value than all we have on this earth.

Is our life goal to gain the kingdom of heaven or something on this earth? When we know how precious and valuable the kingdom of heaven is, our life goal would be to gain the kingdom of heaven.

In the last days, those who know Jesus and those who do not know Jesus will be separated, one into kingdom of God and the other to eternal hell.
Application: Lord, help us to value your kingdom more than all we have on this earth.
