PARABLE OF THE SOWER

Date : May 21, 2026
Passage : Matthew 13:1~17
Keyverse : 15

Jesus told a parable to the crowds. A sower went out to sow his seed. Some fell on the path and birds devoured them. Some fell on rocky ground, but they could not take root and withered. Other seeds fell among thorns which choked them. Still other seeds fell on good soil, and they produced much grain, hundred times what was sown.

The disciples came and asked Jesus, “Why do you speak to them in parables?” Jesus told them that the secrets of the kingdom of heaven had been given to the disciples but not to the crowds. Jesus said that even though they see, they do not see and even though they hear, they do not hear nor understand. This is because their hearts have grown dull. They can barely hear with their ears, and they close their eyes. If they see with their eyes, hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts and repent, Jesus would heal them.

God keeps telling us with his words to repent and believe. God wants us to see his works and understand what he is doing. When we see, hear, and understand, and turn our hearts toward him, God will heal us. God is telling us his words and reveals himself to us. When we see, hear and believe, we will be healed by God.
Application: Father, help us, that our dull hearts may be softened, and turn and see and hear you.
One Word: Jesus will heal us when our dull hearts are softened
