“I WAS NOT DISOBEDIENT TO THE VISION”

Date : Dec 04, 2025
Passage : Acts 26:1~23
Keyverse : 19

Agrippa and Bernice both gave Paul rapt attention. Paul shared his life testimony. He was on trial because of his hope in God’s promise, namely, hope in the resurrection (6-8).

Paul then shared his conversion story with Agrippa (9-16), focusing on how meeting Jesus outside Damascus put him at a crossroads. On one hand, he could remain devout to his cultural upbringing and career. Or, on the other, he could be obedient to the new purpose Jesus was giving him: sending him to the Gentiles, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place with Jesus (17-18).

Paul declared, “I was not disobedient to the vision from heaven” (19). He fully responded to Jesus’ call, preaching repentance to all people (20). Doing so made enemies, but God helped him every step. Paul’s faith in God’s promise in Scripture through Moses and the prophets continues to speak to the truth of God’s purposes through Jesus (19-23).
Application: Father, you have called me to be obedient to Jesus through the gospel. Help me understand my life and plan my future in light of this purpose.
One Word: Discipleship is sharing Jesus’ purpose
