John was told not to seal up the scroll. Jesus is coming again. The time is near. He is coming as Judge and will judge us according to our actions. We are responsible for our own actions. So let those who sin, continue to sin. Let those who are righteous, continue to be righteous. Jesus will judge us accordingly. Those who repent and believe the Lord and do good will be rewarded with eternal life. Those who do not repent their sin will go to everlasting condemnation.
Jesus is the Root and the Offspring of David and the bright Morning Star. He is the promised Messiah, and the new beginning. He personally invites us to be with him in his kingdom. Jesus says, “Come!” and all who are thirsty for righteousness can come and drink from the water of life. Let us hold to Jesus’ promises. For those who do, they will receive eternal life. Any who do not, they will have no share in the tree of life. And they will be punished with plagues. What should we do when Jesus says “Come!” We should say in return “Come, Lord Jesus!”
Application: Father, Jesus is coming! He promises those who are thirsty will get a taste of the water of life. Bless us to wait patiently for his coming, and ready our hearts to receive him.
One Word: Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!
