The heavens open and a white horse comes, whose rider is called “Faithful and True”. He judges and, with righteousness, makes war. The rider represents Jesus Christ, who will come again as Judge and will bring the final defeat of Satan and his minions. The many crowns he wears shows his supreme authority over all of creation. He wears a robe dipped in blood, signifying the ultimate victory over sin and death that he will bring. A sharp sword comes out of his mouth by which he will conquer and judge. And his name is the Word of God. He is King of kings and Lord of lords. He is the Righteous Judge, and he is our Savior from sin and death.

The armies of the earth, led by the beast, will unite and come out against the Lamb. But their defeat is assured. The beast, along with his ally the false prophet, would be captured and thrown into the fiery lake of burning sulfur and would be destroyed. The rider would kill the rest with the sword extended from his mouth. The victory will be complete, with the birds gorging themselves on the flesh of the conquered.
Application: Father, help us to be assured of your victory in the end times. Thank you for the salvation from sin and death that Jesus Christ brings us.
